We are collecting money to realize a sand dam project in Western Kenya and thereby provide a large community with better living conditions and growth potential.
The sand dam is being built by the local community, supported by the Lifeplus Foundation, and local engineers.
A single rainstorm enables an entire village community of 4,000 people to have sand-filtered, clean drinking and domestic water for a year. (Until the next rain)
Other important reasons why we will implement this project:
* The children can go to school
* Girls are safe (are harassed and abused on the long journey to the water source)
*Women can now work instead of spending the whole day fetching water.
* Agricultural programs are possible thanks to the water (fauna and flora are returning.)
